Canadian rock band Money Money are a capable lot who offer up big, brash rockers that could be grouped into songs by the Bangkok Five and Buckcherry. However, what separates them from those bands -- making the album a real charmer -- is the precision and tightness with which they play, especially guitarists Russ Davidson and Colin Kennedy and bassist Jeremy Boyd on the strong and durable title track. The garage rock-meets-seedy punk vibe is also quite apparent on "No Use for the Navy," which sounds like a rowdy descendent of the New York Dolls despite letting up on the proverbial sonic pedal briefly. The oomph and sizzle of the opening songs make way for slower, almost "breather" numbers such as the decent but unspectacular "Aces," despite a soaring guitar-fueled payoff in the chorus. Perhaps the first great highlight is the deliberate "I Am Your Lion," which could be their homage to U2 or Snow Patrol. But Money Money fortunately get back to basics with the punchy "Do What I Told Ya," with singer Ryan Kennedy steering the band along perfectly, and the no-nonsense "Liberation Lover," with its rather primal feel along the lines of the Strokes or the International Noise Conspiracy. The only song that seems to dumb the album down a bit is the quick and simple "Now I Know," which adds little to the proceedings. ~ Jason MacNeil, All Music Guide
