艾丝琳，一位年仅12岁的小女孩，来自加拿大新斯科细亚省的布里顿岬岛，一个充满着无限风情的小岛，在艾丝琳的身上，你可以强烈感受到当地人们的纯朴善良。自小喜爱唱歌的她，并未受过任何专业的音乐训练，但她希望能藉由歌声为大家带来欢娱。
2000年加拿大国庆日上的一场表演，加拿大联邦总理克雷蒂安(Jean Chretien)赞誉她是下一位席琳狄翁。但艾丝琳自己认为，她还年轻，她只想唱她自己喜欢的歌，这个封号实在太沉重了。
尽管艾丝琳逐渐受到世界瞩目，首张专辑便获得告示牌跨界专辑榜Top8的佳绩，但她仍有着一般小女孩的生活与梦想。艾丝琳不仅喜欢流行与乡村音乐，她也爱篮球，她的愿望是：我要取得大学篮球的奖学金，并参加女子世界篮球赛(WNBA)。
「甜美旋律」，是艾丝琳的第一张专辑，曲风是自然清新的乡村民谣，也是她最想唱的歌。最特别的是三首大家熟悉的曲目「Moonlight Shadow」、「Over the Rainbow」和「What a Wonderful World」，全在艾丝琳重新诠释下，透露出来自原野的芳香，这是其它少女歌手望尘莫及的。另外「The Island」一曲，是布里顿岬岛的民俗岛歌，艾丝琳甜美可人的风貌再次体现，就连台湾史上最受欢迎的畅销绘画作家几米，在听了艾丝琳的歌声后，也不禁大为感动，赞誉她的音乐有一种大人没有的纯真与可爱，并将她的歌曲收录在她即将发行的音乐专辑「月亮忘记了」中。

The angelic voice and youthful sparkle of this budding star is hypnotic. Shot on location in her hometown of Glace Bay, Nova Scotia, Aselin Debison is joined in performance by her mentor and co-songwriter Bruce Guthro. Residents and friends, family and fans talk about Aselin's talent, her spirit and Cape Breton, the island they share. The hour-long special is set against the beautiful Maritime backdrop of Glace Bay Harbour.
Aselin first broke on the music scene a few years ago when she sang “The Island,” Cape Breton's unofficial anthem, at a rally for local miners who had lost their jobs. Many in the audience, including the miners, were in tears at her inspired rendition and her reputation spread. Since then she has appeared on a number of CBC TV specials, including Canada Day, the East Coast Music Awards and, most recently, the October 10 Royal Jubilee Gala from Roy Thomson Hall in Toronto in the presence of HRM Queen Elizabeth II. Sony has just released her first CD, Aselin Debison: Sweet Is The Melody.
Songs on her first special include “The Island,” which first brought her fame, “Love So Rare,” “Sweet Is The Melody,” “Getting Dark Again,” “Once In Every Life,” “Moonlight Shadow,” “To Say Goodbye To You,” and the crowd-pleasing “The Dance You Choose,” written and performed with EMI recording star Bruce Guthro of CBC TV's Songwriters Circle.
