Laura Mvula將傳統靈魂與優雅古典樂章結合，同時沾染迷人的爵士調調。來自英國伯明罕，從小學習古典鋼琴，同時在教會詩班演中奠定深厚歌唱技巧。2005年加入阿姨所組的A Cappella團體Black Voices，2008年擔任Jazz/Neo-Soul團體Judyshouse主唱與創作核心。2013年發行首張處女秀《Sing To The Moon》登英國金榜第9名、節奏藍調榜冠軍，提名水星音樂獎，一舉拿下英國黑人音樂至高榮譽MOBO音樂獎「最佳女歌手」、「最佳節奏藍調/靈魂歌手」。
