Albert Hammond 家族源自於 Gibraltar (直布羅陀) ，二戰後移民至英國，最為人熟知的歌曲為「It Never Rains in Southern California (1972)」，他本身是個創作歌手，也是個優異的流行／搖滾音樂寫歌者，從'60年代至今寫過的歌讓許多歌手爭相演唱、成為膾炙人口的經典之作，除此之外，他也是個優秀的錄音師，更是許多大歌星背後的推手／音樂製作人，2008年6月19日登上「Songwriters Hall of Fame (創作名人堂)」，這一份榮耀讓他的家鄉直布羅陀政府引以為傲，計畫於2010年為他發行一套慶賀性質的紀念郵票，每一套郵票中都會印製上 Albert Hammond 與他最喜愛的歌或創作的暢銷經典歌曲如「Nothing's Gonna Stop Us Now」、「When I Need You」、「The Air that I Breathe」。
