台灣的特殊地形造就了多樣化的生態與文化。
近4,000公尺的高山，蘊藏了獨特的生態樣貌。而鄰近在台灣周圍的大海，裡頭其實也藏著珍貴的寶藏─黑潮─，它同樣擁有令人嘖嘖稱奇的深度，且達4,000公尺。從黑潮海溝到玉山的頂峰，共8,000公尺的距離，是美麗寶島─台灣─獨特的地形。

8,000這張專輯的創作理念，我以海拔的高度做為順序，由低至高，從蘭嶼的達悟族開始、慢慢地走到海邊的阿美族、攀上山腰上的魯凱族，最後才是住在深山裡的布農族。特別推薦的是，本張專輯裡的「祈禱小米豐收歌」，首創以16道分軌將歌者的聲音用最新的科技收錄下來，再經由錄音室的後製，讓傳統的歌謠擁有了全新的生命。經過漫長的旅程與創作，我希望透過本專輯的音樂，讓大家更珍惜台灣原住民文化與大自然所給予我們的一切。
