虽然团体中不是每个人都具有非洲血统，但他们演唱的主体往往关注非洲，尤其是古埃及风，这在他们的首张专辑中就有体现。如DJ Kheops的名字就有古埃及历史来源。我们知道最大的金字塔是胡夫金字塔，由埃及第四王朝第二位法老胡夫（Khufu）所建，Khufu翻译成希腊文正是Kheops（奇阿普斯）。
此外，他们的作品也带有伊斯兰的意识形态。法国社会与北非穆斯林的对立难以一时消退，当然西方社会普遍存在着“伊斯兰恐惧症”（Islamophobia）。IAM正是希望通过自己的努力，使法国的主流社会能够更加容纳穆斯林群体，缓解对立情绪。[/b]
